Can Politics and Ethics be Reconciled?

General Francisco Franco was the leader of the military rebels that started the Spanish Civil War (1936-39) leading to the end of infant Democracy in Spain and starting the longest ever modern dictatorhip in Europe. Backing the Spanish Fascists/Falangists and with the military aid of Hitler and Mussolini he changed sides following their defeat and proclaiming a crusade for anti-communism and traditional values like family, religion, and order, he secured himself the support of the Brisith first and the Americans later. Democratic Spain was forgotten for four decades until his death. Spanish thinkers and scientists (like the Nobel Laureate in Medicine Prof Severo Ochoa), artists (like Picasso), Musicians (like the cellist Pau Casals)and film directors (like Buñuel) were forced to exile. Has any one from the USA asked for a reappraisal of Pro-Franco policies?
